The book digs deep into the actor\u2019s major health scares and episodes of \u201cmultiple near-death experiences and medical crises\u201d in the past. According to the official synopsis, the struggle led to \u201ca remarkable, globe-spanning quest that revealed answers about his ancestry, inherited trauma and the deeper histories we carry.\u201d<\/p>\n Amid Manganiello\u2019s rise to fame, \u201ca cascade of autoimmune-related illnesses attacked his skin, thyroid, eyes, lungs, and digestive system.\u201d The sudden unexplained medical crisis included \u201cchronic pain, a life-saving organ amputation, existential crisis and a prolonged fight for survival.\u201d<\/p>\n When doctors could not provide any explanation, it pushed the actor and his family to turn to unorthodox methods.
