\n\tDuran Duran<\/a> have been making magic with Nile Rodgers for more than 40 years, and their collaborative winning streak (which helped give the band their first Billboard Hot 100 topper back in 1984) continues into 2026 with the lush dance-funk of \u201cFree to Love\u201d by Duran Duran featuring Nile Rodgers.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Friday (June 26), the British band will unleash Free to Love: Hot Star Remixes, featuring eight versions of the rapturously received song. \u201cSometimes a song simply demands remixes and you have no choice but to obey \u2013 this was certainly the case with \u2018Free To Love,\u2019\u201d explains the band\u2019s Nick Rhodes in a statement. \u201cWe wanted to collaborate with the best possible contemporary remixers, which is something we have not done for a very long time. It was a leap of faith, and we had absolutely no idea how the interpretations of our song might turn out, but we could not be more thrilled with the results.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOne of those remixes comes courtesy of Trixie Mattel, the joke-slinging, guitar-strumming drag queen who won RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race All Stars in 2018 and established herself as a DJ and remixer during the pandemic.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe audacity for me to put my own spin on this track!\u201d says Mattel of remixing the new single from the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, during Pride Month, no less. \u201cA slightly higher BPM, more cosmic disco fantasy and a fat nasty bass. I firmly believe anything can be made gayer.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFree to Love: Hot Star Remixes (pre-save here<\/a>) also features \u201cFree to Love\u201d revamps courtesy of Horse Meat Disco, Harrison and more.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt was fascinating to work with artists across different genres of dance music to see how their approaches to our song varied. With music you can either keep it locked up in your room or open the doors to the whole hotel and find out what the other rooms look like and sound like,\u201d said Rhodes. \u201cPersonally, I am always curious and more thrilled by the unknown. These remixes were a fantastic adventure.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMattel recently joined Billboard for an episode of Takes Us Out at a donut shop, where she talked about her DJ career and finally becoming a Swiftie.<\/a> Not long after the record\u2019s release, Duran Duran will headline BST Hyde Park<\/a> in London on July 5.
