The success of The Other Bennet Sister<\/a> has meant that since its release, fans have been patiently waiting to see whether they’ll be treated to any further instalments. Well, it’s a cause for celebration as it’s been announced that the series will be returning for a three-part Christmas special.<\/p>\n

The episodes will be filmed in Wales this summer, with release due for the festive period this year so fans don’t have too long to wait until they’re reunited with Mary Bennet<\/a> (Ella Bruccoleri).<\/p>\n

As of now, a description for the episodes has not been unveiled but we do know that they will “explore what happens after the wedding bells fade and real life begins”, according to executive producer Jane Tranter.<\/p>\n

Sarah Quintrell will return to write the episodes, which are based on storylines by author Janice Hadlow. Asim Abbasi \u2013 who directed five episodes of the series \u2013 will also be returning to the director’s chair.<\/p>\n

Previously speaking about the series for The Radio Times Writers’ Room<\/a>, screenwriter Sarah Quintrell admitted that she would “love to do more of this”, but clarified that this meant “more stories taking a different angle into a story”. So, it looks as though everybody’s got their wish!<\/p>\n

As for returning cast, we know that Bruccoleri will reprise her leading role but as for others, the BBC has only teased that “a host of other familiar faces” will be returning. As for who that’ll be, we’ll just have to wait and see.<\/p>\n

Seeing as the final episode left off with Mary agreeing to marry Tom Hayward (D\u00f3nal Finn), plenty of fans will be excited to see what’s on the cards for the pair.<\/p>\n

The BBC previously announced that The Other Bennet Sister was the biggest launch of a new drama<\/a> across all platforms and streamers in the UK since May 2025, with 7.3 million viewers watching in its first 28 days.<\/p>\n

Jane Tranter, CEO of Bad Wolf, said on the announcement of the Christmas specials: “We always hoped audiences would fall in love with Mary Bennet\u2019s story, but the response to The Other Bennet Sister has exceeded even our most optimistic expectations.<\/p>\n

“These Christmas specials give us the chance to spend a little more time with characters audiences have taken to their hearts, and to explore what happens after the wedding bells fade and real life begins. Returning to the world of Mary Bennet with our brilliant partners at the BBC and BritBox feels like the perfect way to celebrate the success of the series and give viewers a treat this Christmas.”<\/p>\n
