The Paper<\/a>\u201d has set its slate of Season 2 guest stars, which includes Jon Lovitz (\u201cThe Simpsons\u201d), Andy Richter (\u201cConan\u201d), Lisa Gilroy (\u201cJury Duty\u201d), Matt Braunger (\u201cAgent Carter\u201d), Toks Olagundoye (\u201cFamily Guy,\u201d \u201cBeave and\u00a0Butt-Head\u201d) and Phil Hendrie (\u201cThe Phil Hendrie\u201d radio show).<\/p>\n\n\tThe series, a loose spinoff of \u201cThe Office,\u201d returns on Sept. 9 with new episodes. In Season 2, Ned searches for a journalistic crusade after sweeping the Ohio Journalism Awards. He goes after a local private club and puts the Toledo Truth Teller in jeopardy. \u201cWhile he and Mare try to figure out their attraction, Esmeralda struggles to find her place and the staff gradually mature as reporters,\u201d per the logline.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cThe Paper\u2019s\u201d ensemble cast includes Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina\u00a0Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Tim Key, Ramona Young, Eric Rahill, Duane Shepard Sr., Alex Edelman and Oscar Nu\u00f1ez (who reprises his role as Oscar Martinez).<\/p>\n
\n\tOther than Oscar, the through line between \u201cThe Office\u201d and \u201cThe Paper\u201d is that the documentary crew chronicling the revival of a dying local newspaper in the Midwest is the same group that, decades earlier, embedded in the Scranton-based paper company Dunder Mifflin. (Plus, Bob Vance of Vance Refrigeration makes a cameo in the premiere episode.)<\/p>\n
