With an hour\u2019s notice and a bat of her eyelashes, Charli XCX<\/a> ushered in her third single from Music, Fashion, Film<\/a>: \u201cWink Wink.\u201d The new song gets a music video directed by Aidan Zamiri, in which the pop star swears she\u2019s \u201cnot a bad girl anymore\u201d while eating strawberries in a field, washing window panes, sneaking onto a roof, and letting loose by herself. \u201cWink Wink\u201d arrives after the headline-baiting single \u201cRock Music<\/a>\u201d and the more traditionally pop-indebted song \u201cSS26<\/a>.\u201d (No, their accompanying \u201cb-sides<\/a>\u201d aren\u2019t part of the album\u2019s tracklist.) Charli XCX previously denied that Music, Fashion, Film is a rock album, but it does seem like she got plenty of inspiration beyond the dance floor \u2014 or at least in terms of who she rang up to pose for its cover: John Cale<\/a>, fashion designer Marc Jacobs, and director Martin Scorsese.<\/p>\n

Music, Fashion, Film is out July 24 via Atlantic. It\u2019s her second full-length album of 2026 and the official follow-up to Brat<\/a>, seeing as Wuthering Heights<\/a> was a companion album soundtracking Emerald Fennell\u2019s film adaptation<\/a> of the titular novel. Charli XCX has a short arena tour<\/a> planned to celebrate her upcoming album\u2019s release as well as a number of headlining sets at music festivals like Lollapalooza<\/a>, Outside Lands<\/a>, and Austin City Limits<\/a>.<\/p>\n
