A footballer’s heroic wife has tragically passed away after shielding their one-year-old daughter from rubble during the Venezuela earthquakes.<\/p>\n

On June 24, the South American country was struck by two powerful earthquakes<\/a>, with respective magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5<\/p>\n

H\u00e9ctor Bello, a defender for second division side Mar\u00edtimo de La Guaira, had paid tribute to his wife, Andrea, after their building collapsed in the disaster.<\/p>\n

The death toll of the natural disaster has risen to 589 as of the afternoon of Friday, June 26, and the number of casualties is expected to rise, with at least 50,000 people reported missing.<\/p>\n

One of the brave who lost their life was Andrea, who was pulled from the rubble after using her own body to protect her baby daughter.<\/p>\n

Miraculously, the couple’s one-year-old was rescued in time and survived.<\/p>\n

Bello has now spoken out about his heartbreak, writing: ‘You left us alone in the fight, mummy. You left me all alone with our daughter.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a second emotional message, the footballer<\/a> wrote: ‘How do I tell that to my daughter? Andrea, how do I explain to your daughter that you lost your life to save hers, and I wasn\u2019t there in that moment to do anything?<\/p>\n

‘How do I explain? Give me strength now because I can\u2019t take any more.’<\/p>\n

‘You\u2019ll always be our favourite hero, Mummy,’ Bello continued. ‘I\u2019m going to make sure our baby remembers how wonderful you were, how much you loved her.<\/p>\n

‘I\u2019ll tell her the story of how you saved her, how you gave your own life for our daughter, how you were a brave woman who, even with your last breath, never abandoned her.’<\/p>\n

The footballer, known as ‘Kike’, continued: ‘You would laugh all in love, and your cheeks would turn red.
