The HSE have recommended a number of actions following an inspection of a Sligo Health Service Executive facility.<\/p>\n

Earrach Services is a service run by the Health Service Executive. The centre comprises of two two-storey houses which are located next to each other in a town in Co. Sligo.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
The centre provides full-time residential care for up to twelve male and female residents with an intellectual disabilities.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
The staff team consists of both nursing and non-nursing staff. A waking night arrangement is in place in both properties.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Earrach was inspected by (HIQA) on 19th March of this year as part of an unannounced inspection.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Ten regulations were inspected with six deemed to be compliant, three sub-compliances and one non-compliance.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
To ensure compliance 17 actions will now have to be undertaken:<\/p>\n
The actions include the enhanced cleaning of the centre to include skirting boards, ceiling and windowsills.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
A contract cleaner has been identified and has commenced work in the centre.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Worn and Stained Flooring in the kitchen and the hallway will be replaced.<\/p>\n
Redecoration of all rooms and hallways in the centre will be completed.<\/p>\n
All kitchen presses that have been damaged will be replaced.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
All maintenance works identified through audit will be placed on the centere QIP and will be addressed on the senior management monthly visit to the centre.<\/p>\n
A plan of work will be agreed with the HSE maintenance department with timeframes for completion.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
HSE Disability Services in the Sligo, Leitrim, South Donegal, West Cavan Integrated Healthcare Area will continue to work to ensure that robust governance, quality and safety arrangements are in place within the Earrach designated centre to ensure high quality services are provided to all residents.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Meanwhile on the 26th of February an inspection took place at Drumiskabole Lodge, a designated centre which is managed by the HSE and provides residential care for up to four adults with intellectual disabilities.<\/p>\n
The centre in question is located a few kilometres from a small town in Co. Sligo.<\/p>\n
Fourteen regulations were inspected, thirteen received a complaint judgement and one was deemed to be substantially complaint.<\/p>\n
A compliance plan to address the substantially compliant judgement has been returned to the Authority outlining a number of actions for completion to bring the centre into full compliance:<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Finally an inspection took place at the Dun Siog a bungalow located in a rural location in County Sligo on the 3rd March.<\/p>\n
Nine regulations were assessed at the inspection with seven regulations deemed to be fully compliant, one deemed to be substantially compliant and one deemed to be non-compliant.<\/p>\n
A compliance plan to address the substantially compliant judgement and non-compliance judgement have been returned outlining a number of actions to be undertaken to bring the centre into full compliance:<\/p>\n
There is now a schedule in place which is monitored monthly by the provider to ensure all reports are completed within the specified timeframe.<\/p>\n
