Lottie Ryan<\/a> is leaving RT\u00c9 after more than 15 years to join rival broadcaster Virgin Media Television as the new co-host of The Six O’Clock Show.<\/p>\n

Virgin Media Television announced that Ryan will join Brian Dowling Gourounlian on the weeknight entertainment programme, marking a high-profile move between Ireland’s two largest broadcasters.<\/p>\n

Ryan has built her broadcasting career at RT\u00c9 <\/a>over the past decade and a half across radio, television and podcasting.<\/p>\n

During her time with the national broadcaster, she also won Dancing with the Stars, further raising her profile with Irish audiences.<\/p>\n

She succeeds as co-host alongside Brian Dowling Gourounlian, who has fronted The Six O’Clock Show full-time since November 2023.<\/p>\n

The programme is one of Virgin Media Television<\/a>‘s flagship early evening shows, featuring celebrity interviews, entertainment news, food, music and lifestyle content.<\/p>\n

Ryan is no stranger to the programme, having previously appeared as a guest, but will now take on a permanent presenting role.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the appointment, Ryan said she was looking forward to joining the programme.<\/p>\n

“I’m absolutely delighted to be joining The Six O’Clock Show.<\/p>\n

\u201cI’ve always loved the show and having been a guest on the Six Sofa before, it feels really special to now be a part of the team,” she said.<\/p>\n

“I’m really looking forward to getting started, working alongside Brian and the brilliant crew behind the scenes \u2013 and I can’t wait for viewers to see what we have in store \u2013 there’s plenty of fun ahead.”<\/p>\n

Ryan’s move represents another significant talent acquisition for Virgin Media Television as it continues to strengthen its entertainment and current affairs line-up.<\/p>\n

Brian Dowling Gourounlian will continue in his role as co-host, having become a familiar face on the programme since taking up the position on a full-time basis in late 2023.<\/p>\n

Virgin Media Television said Ryan brings extensive live broadcasting experience to the role through her work as a television presenter, radio broadcaster and podcast host.<\/p>\n

The appointment follows a number of recent presenter changes at Virgin Media Television as the broadcaster continues to invest in its flagship programming and compete with RT\u00c9 <\/a>for both audiences and on-screen talent.<\/p>\n

“She has one of the great surnames in Irish broadcasting history but leaves 2FM simply known\u00a0as Lottie….that is all you need to know about how well she has carried herself professionally\u00a0and personally.”<\/p>\n
