The bride\u2019s a flight attendant and the groom\u2019s a pilot, so Jenna Browne and Aodh\u00e1n Lonergan are always asked if they met at an airport or on a plane.<\/p>\n

Jenna, from Glanmire, Cork, and Aodh\u00e1n, from Newry, Co Down, went on their first date, to Portmarnock Beach, in May 2020 and were married in St Mary\u2019s Cathedral, Killarney, almost exactly six years later. \u201cEveryone expects a crazy love story like something from a movie \u2014 when in fact the truth is quite the opposite,\u201d says Jenna.<\/p>\n

Because the couple\u2019s paths crossed during what was one of the most difficult times the industry has ever experienced \u2014 the covid pandemic. \u201cAlthough we didn\u2019t quite \u2018lose\u2019 our jobs, we weren\u2019t flying, and we certainly weren\u2019t earning any money,\u201d says Jenna. \u201cThe travel industry had collapsed the world had essentially closed down. A pilot and an air hostess brought very firmly back down to earth with a bang!<\/p>\n

\u201cBut we ultimately got the gift of time \u2014 time to fall in love in the most real and grounded way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since then, they\u2019ve seen much of the world together. \u201cWe got engaged on September 6, 2024, in Positano in Italy,\u201d says Jenna.<\/p>\n

When the bride was fashionably late for her walk up the runway at St Mary\u2019s Cathedral last month, their priest, Fr Joe McGrath, simply informed the congregation that the flight was delayed and pointed out the \u201cemergency exits\u201d as well as giving a safety demonstration.<\/p>\n

Aodh\u00e1n adds: \u201cHe was the star of the show. As he said himself, he keeps the holy parts holy, but boy does he make the funny parts hilarious! He even broke into song \u2014 Your Song by Elton John.\u201d<\/p>\n

They held their reception in The Great Southern Hotel, where the staff were \u201cabsolutely exceptional\u201d, says the bride.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cJenna spent every summer in Killarney with her family, and it was always such a special place to her,\u201d says the groom.<\/p>\n

Jenna\u2019s friend Cliona O\u2019Leary was her maid of honour, and her friends and colleagues Laura Murphy and Cian O\u2019Shea were her bridesmaid and bridesman, respectively.<\/p>\n

Aodh\u00e1n\u2019s twin brother, Caol\u00e1n Lonergan, was his best man, and his friend and colleague Glenn Colgan, together with Jenna\u2019s brother Cian Browne, were the groomsmen.<\/p>\n

The couple\u2019s niece and Aodh\u00e1n\u2019s godchild, Zara-Rose Lonergan, was the flowergirl. The newlyweds travelled in style in a two-seater soft-top Alfa Romeo, courtesy of Pristine Classic Occasions.<\/p>\n

The bride wore a Randy Fenoli dress, which she bought in Diamond Bridal in Cork.<\/p>\n

\u201cChristine O\u2019Sullivan looked after our hair, while Lizzie Desmond worked her magic on makeup. The men\u2019s suits were bought from Freddie Hatchet in Dublin.<\/p>\n

Also adding to the sense of fun and occasion was photographer Padraig Healy Padraighealy.com<\/a>. \u201cQuite simply, he is the best of the best at what he does,\u201d says Jenna.<\/p>\n

\u201cCal Callaghan, our videographer, is a true gent and genuinely had us laughing all day long.\u201d Tie the Knot created the bouquets and floral d\u00e9cor, and content creator Maria from Just Murried was also crucial to the event\u2019s success, adds Jenna: \u201cShe was my biggest hype woman, doing a daily countdown with me every morning.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur wedding band, Flake the Gander, are a group of lads I have known since my schooldays!\u201d<\/p>\n

The Dublin-based newlyweds honeymooned in the Maldives.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe live in a newbuild house, not far from the airport,\u201d says Jenna.<\/p>\n
