Gracie Abrams<\/a> has addressed the \u201cnepo baby\u201d discourse that\u2019s followed her throughout her pop career.<\/p>\n

The singer and daughter of director\u00a0JJ Abrams<\/a> is due to release her third studio album,\u00a0\u2018Daughter From Hell<\/a>\u2018, on July 17 via Interscope (visit here<\/a> to pre-order). So far, she\u2019s previewed the record with the enchanting single \u2018Hit The Wall<\/a>\u2018.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the album\u2019s release, she appeared on the New York Times\u2018 PopCast, where she was asked about how having a famous parent has impacted her career.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe nepo stuff is obviously in the discourse appropriately,\u201d she said. \u201cI think about the privilege there, and it\u2019s like, I had a safety net, and that allowed me the ability to experiment and to concentrate, and I had the gift of time to dedicate to doing this thing I loved. I wasn\u2019t growing up afraid financially, and that\u2019s the biggest deal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beyond the financial benefits, Abrams also spoke about the advantage of growing up with parents who understand both the entertainment industry and working in a creative field.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe specific household that I was born into, there is just this vocabulary that I\u2019m so lucky to grow up with,\u201d she said. \u201cSo like, when I see people pointing that out, it\u2019s like, I get it, hard-core. The jokes and things, I understand the tone of the Internet.\u201d<\/p>\n

Abrams recently unveiled the tracklist for the album<\/a> along with runtimes. Songs like \u2018Death Wish\u2019, \u2018Broke My Heart\u2019 and \u2018What If It\u2019s Right?\u2019, will be on the tracklist, with Abrams calling the latter her \u201cfavourite\u201d song<\/a>\u00a0on the record.<\/p>\n

\u2018Minibar\u2019 \u2013 co-written by friend\u00a0Audrey Hobert<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 will also appear on the album.\u00a0According to Spotify credits<\/a>, closing track \u2018Cold Goodbyes\u2019 will feature\u00a0Marcus Mumford<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0Mumford and Sons<\/a> and is the longest song on the record.<\/p>\n

In support of the album, Abrams will embark on\u00a0\u2018The Look At My Life\u2019 tour in 2026-2027<\/a>. Commencing in the US, the tour begins in Denver\u2019s Ball Arena on December 2 before heading around North America throughout the following four months.<\/p>\n

Following that, Abrams will jet off to Europe to begin the leg in Paris\u2019 Accor Arena on April 8. She\u2019s due to play three shows at Manchester\u2019s Co-op Live, two in Glasgow\u2019s OVO Hydro and four at London\u2019s The O2. The tour concludes in Barcelona on May 28.<\/p>\n

Rachel Chinouriri<\/a>,\u00a0Holly Humberstone<\/a>,\u00a0Del Water Gap<\/a>,\u00a0Charlotte Lawrence<\/a>,\u00a0Grace Ives<\/a>, Bella Kay, Jensen McRae and\u00a0The Japanese House<\/a>\u00a0will support Abrams in the US, while in Europe it will be\u00a0Samia<\/a>\u00a0and Jake Minch.<\/p>\n
