{"id":522626,"date":"2026-06-28T13:00:15","date_gmt":"2026-06-28T13:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/522626\/"},"modified":"2026-06-28T13:00:15","modified_gmt":"2026-06-28T13:00:15","slug":"munster-technological-university-launches-suite-of-micro-courses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/522626\/","title":{"rendered":"Munster Technological University launches suite of \u2018micro\u2019 courses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"contextmenu internal_Body1st\"><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.echolive.ie\/corknews\/arid-41846874.html\">Munster Technological University<\/a> (MTU) has launched a new suite of more than 40 \u2018micro\u2019 courses which are designed to support workforce upskilling.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">The courses are part of MTU\u2019s initiative to provide flexible, accessible, and future-focused education, addressing emerging skills gaps identified by employers, regulators, state agencies, and not for profit organisations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">They are designed to be immediately applicable in the workplace and are delivered through part time and flexible formats.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">The new portfolio comprises more than 40 micro credential courses developed across MTU\u2019s faculties, covering topics ranging from AI, cybersecurity and data analytics, to sustainability, leadership, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, creative practice, financial services and maritime operations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu caption\">Proud tradition<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">Professor Maggie Cusack, president of MTU, said the technological university has a proud tradition of supporting lifelong learning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">\u201cOur new micro credential courses reflect our commitment to providing flexible, accessible and future focused education.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">\u201cDeveloped in collaboration with industry, these courses are designed to help professionals upskill and reskill while responding to real world skills needs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">\n            \u201cIn a world that is changing rapidly, continuous learning is more important than ever. By investing in continuous development that combines flexibility and academic excellence, we are helping individuals, organisations and communities adapt, grow and succeed.\u201d\n        <\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">Gerard O\u2019Donovan, vice-dean of business at MTU and project lead, added: \u201cThe strength of MTU\u2019s micro-credential offering lies in its close connection with industry.
