Irish fans adore Michael Bubl\u00e9, but not many have been lucky enough to meet him yet.<\/p>\n

The Canadian superstar performed for thousands of adoring fans at Dublin’s Malahide Castle on Saturday, June 27, with a treasure trove of a setlist that included Sway, Feeling Good, and Cry Me A River.<\/p>\n

And while he put on quite the show, he went the extra mile for his Dublin fans, playing an intimate secret gig the night before.<\/p>\n

Michael took to the stage of the Ruby Sessions, held in the upstairs area of Doyle’s in the city centre.<\/p>\n

Scores of artists have graced the stage for an intimate performance before Michael, including Ed Sheeran, Mumford & Sons, Paolo Nutini, and James Blunt, nights remembered through scrawlings on the pub’s famous wall.<\/p>\n

In a clip<\/a> the singer shared on his own social media, an excited fan is heard exclaiming, ‘Michael Bubl\u00e9!? Holy s**t!’ in disbelief.<\/p>\n

‘I know, I can’t believe I’m here either,’ Michael said. ‘I’m not saying that it’s true, but I was hoping for Lewis Capaldi,’ he quipped, after Lewis’ phenomenal gigs at Marlay Park and his confirmed Electric Picnic appearance<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Michael treated pubgoers to songs including Moondance, before teasing his new country album, described as a \u2018love letter\u2019 to the genre.<\/p>\n

He wrote: ‘Half the time I\u2019m just as surprised as everyone else by where I end up. This time, I\u2019m pretty happy it was\u00a0@therubysessions.’<\/p>\n

One TikTok user had no idea she was in for such an incredible night. She wrote: ‘When I left the house this morning, I wasn’t expecting to end up seeing MICHAEL BUBL\u00c9 perform his entire unreleased album to 50 people in Doyle’s in Dublin, but HERE WE ARE. I might recover from this next year.’<\/p>\n

Michael has made no secret of his gr\u00e1 for Ireland<\/a>, and in 2023, he said of Irish fans: ‘I love them, they are my people. I really do, I have a big, deep love. Amazing people [and] great audiences. It\u2019s impossible not to be in love with those people.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s just one of those places where, as an entertainer or a human being, you don\u2019t have to be something you are not. The more natural and genuine I am, the more fun that I have.\u2019<\/p>\n

We don’t know about you, but Michael’s always in our houses come the festive period, and he wants to be in Ireland at Christmastime just as much as we want him to be here.<\/p>\n

The singer likes ‘just getting a walk down the street and going shopping’. Don’t we all!<\/p>\n

\u2018I love it at Christmas. It\u2019s a very romantic place at Christmas, everything all lit up and all the shops and my music playing through every store,\u2019 he joked.<\/p>\n
