The Rolling Stones<\/a>\u2018 Mick Jagger<\/a> has revealed which modern artists he\u2019s a fan of.<\/p>\n

The legendary rock band are gearing up to release their 25th studio album, \u2018Foreign Tongues<\/a>\u2018, which is out on July 10 via Polydor\/Universal Music.\u00a0In the lead-up, Jagger previously revealed<\/a> he\u2019s been a fan of\u00a0Zara Larsson<\/a> since 2018, and now he\u2019s sharing even more new music he\u2019s been listening to.<\/p>\n

In a new interview with GQ<\/a>, Jagger was asked which current musicians he\u2019s inspired by, to which he responded: \u201cI did a track<\/a> with Burna Boy<\/a>. That was hilarious. \u2018Cause I\u2019m a real afrobeats person. And I\u2019ve always liked Burna Boy. David Bowie<\/a> was a great example of someone who only wanted to listen to what was going on now. But it\u2019s such a lot of work to do that. It\u2019s so much work. Loads of it is rubbish. So, I don\u2019t ignore what\u2019s going on, but I\u2019m not a slave to what\u2019s going on.<\/p>\n

Jagger was then asked if he had heard Geese<\/a> \u2013 and it turns out, he has. \u201cGeese, everyone\u2019s talking about them. They\u2019re very experimental, Geese, really,\u201d he said. \u201cI mean, for a rock band. I quite like it. I heard all the talk about it, and as soon as the record, [\u2018Getting Killed<\/a>\u2018], came out, I was expecting it to be more indie. I wasn\u2019t expecting it to be quite that out there, but I admire that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later, he also gave Rosal\u00eda<\/a> his approval, saying, \u201cI mean, there\u2019s also a lot of good women singers who have done great recently. Look at Rosalia\u2019s album [\u2018Lux<\/a>\u2018]. That was something really conceptual, really interesting. And she really pulled it off, and I really admire her for doing it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Upon announcing the follow-up to 2023\u2019s\u00a0Grammy<\/a>-winning\u00a0\u2018Hackney Diamonds\u2019<\/a>, Jagger\u00a0and co. revealed that the record would boast contributions from the\u00a0Cure<\/a> frontman \u00a0Robert Smith<\/a>, and the likes of\u00a0Paul McCartney<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Red Hot Chili Peppers<\/a>\u2018 Chad Smith.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, they shared Divine Intervention\u2019, featuring Smith, along with another single, \u2018Jealous Lover\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Stones\u2019 forthcoming album will also include the previously released singles \u2018Rough And Twisted\u2019<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0\u2018In The Stars\u2019<\/a>, as well as a cover of\u00a0the Amy Winehouse classic \u2018You Know I\u2019m No Good\u2019<\/a>. It\u2019ll also feature the group\u2019s late drummer,\u00a0Charlie Watts<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In other news,\u00a0The Rolling Stones have announced a new podcast series,\u00a0Speaking In Tongues<\/a>, giving fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the making of \u2018Foreign Tongues\u2019 across six episodes.<\/p>\n

Last month,\u00a0NME\u00a0attended the \u2018Foreign Tongues\u2019 launch event<\/a>\u00a0in New York City, where the Stones discussed the diversity of sound on their new album and a country track called \u2018Ringing Hollow\u2019.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere,\u00a0Jagger recently teased the possibility of a new Rolling Stones tour coming up<\/a>, saying that he hoped to do some \u201cshows next year\u201d. He\u2019d previously said he\u00a0\u201ccan\u2019t wait\u201d to get back out on the road\u00a0<\/a>with the group, and\u00a0Keith Richards hinted that they could confirm some dates for 2027<\/a>.<\/p>\n
