{"id":522890,"date":"2026-06-28T16:47:12","date_gmt":"2026-06-28T16:47:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/522890\/"},"modified":"2026-06-28T16:47:12","modified_gmt":"2026-06-28T16:47:12","slug":"outrage-as-campervans-continue-to-block-donegal-town-paths","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/522890\/","title":{"rendered":"Outrage as campervans continue to block Donegal Town paths"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Donegal Town residents have again expressed frustration at the number of campervans who are illegally parked on footpaths.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.donegaldaily.com\/news\/campervan-users-urged-to-park-responsibly-in-donegal-town-633174\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Last month, we reported that up to 20 campervans<\/a> had parked up at the pier car park during the May Bank Holiday weekend &#8211; many parked in a manner that completely blocked a footpath.<\/p>\n<p>Following that incident, Donegal County Council issued a formal reminder to all using the space to park responsibly.<\/p>\n<p>However once again locals have contacted Donegal Daily after a number of campervans again blocked paths in the area this weekend, restricting access for pedestrians &#8211; particularly for those with reduced mobility.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-639633 in-content-img not-prose w-full\" height=\"1634\" width=\"auto\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/outrage-as-campervans-continue-to-block-donegal-town-paths.jpeg\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-serif font-normal text-base leading-6 text-tertiary not-prose\"> One of the campervans illegally parked in Donegal Town this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Campervans again blocking footpaths for wheelchair users and people with children in buggies,&#8221; said one local resident.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;All were UK reg vehicles.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The resident also expressed outrage at the apparent lack of response from local Garda\u00ed despite multiple illegal parking incidents there in recent months.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Guards are supposed to police this at the weekends and out of hours.
