There is sadness in Moville after the passing of Christopher Murdock.<\/p>\n

He was the former long-time chair of the St John Ambulance in Northern Ireland, and was awarded an MBE by King Charles for his dedication to volunteering in his 2026 New Years’ Honours list.<\/p>\n

The St John Ambulance Service paid tribute to Christopher following the news of his passing yesterday.<\/p>\n

“It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of our former Chairman, Mr Christopher Murdock MBE, peacefully at home,” they wrote.<\/p>\n

“Christopher served as our Chairman from 2018 to 2024 as well as Lieutenant of the Commandery of St John.”<\/p>\n

“He was awarded an MBE in the 2026 New Year’s Honours for his long and valued service to St John Ambulance and the wider community in Northern Ireland.”<\/p>\n

“Christopher was a man of integrity and compassion, exemplified by his deep interest in First Aid and the Order of St John.”<\/p>\n

“We are a better organisation for having had him as a valued member and his loss will be felt deeply across Northern Ireland.”<\/p>\n
