\u201cAnd once I realized that not everybody got to have that experience, I felt like it was my duty, my responsibility to share as much love and to pour into (as) much people as I possibly could.<\/p>\n
\u201cMusic was a way for me to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n
Encouraging the next generation, she continued: \u201cWe hold different gifts. Someone else\u2019s gifting might be fashion. Might be hair. Might be consoling someone.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt might be this microphone. But that gifting is very important because somebody out there needs your gift. So don\u2019t sell your gift short.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThank you all the legends and all the greats who paved the road for all of us. Let\u2019s celebrate each other. Let\u2019s honour each other. Let\u2019s respect each other.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf nobody else shows us respect, let\u2019s respect each other. If nobody else loves us, let\u2019s love on each other. And you know what\u2019s going to happen?<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re going to start loving us.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey already do, first of all. But we\u2019re gonna show them how we wanna be loved.<\/p>\n

Hill first found fame as frontwoman of multi-platinum-selling, Grammy-winning group the Fugees.<\/p>\n
Their second album, The Score, released in 1996, included the hits Killing Me Softly and Ready Or Not, and sold more than 22 million copies.<\/p>\n
It won the Grammy for best rap album, making Hill the first woman to receive the prize.<\/p>\n
Hill\u2019s solo debut The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill made her a global superstar.<\/p>\n
She wrote and recorded the record when she was pregnant with her first son, Zion and the album song To Zion is about her decision to become a mother against the advice of many in the music industry.<\/p>\n
