{"id":524339,"date":"2026-06-29T15:34:21","date_gmt":"2026-06-29T15:34:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/524339\/"},"modified":"2026-06-29T15:34:21","modified_gmt":"2026-06-29T15:34:21","slug":"creatine-recalled-due-to-undeclared-dairy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/524339\/","title":{"rendered":"Creatine recalled due to undeclared dairy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NZ Muscle Ltd is recalling NZ Muscle Creatine and No Brand Creatine due to the possible presence of an undeclared allergen (milk) as part of New Zealand Food Safety\u2019s ongoing investigation into the company\u2019s products.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe concern with this product is that the label does not warn people who need to avoid milk because of allergies,\u201d says New Zealand Food Safety\u2019s acting deputy director-general Mike Inglis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The following products and batches are affected by this recall:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NZ Muscle<\/p>\n<p>NZ Muscle Creatine (Unflavoured) (200g) Date mark: B\/B JUN27<\/p>\n<p>NZ Muscle Creatine (Unflavoured) (500g) Date mark: B\/B JUN27<\/p>\n<p>NZ Muscle Creatine (Unflavoured) (1kg) Date mark: B\/B JUN27<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No Brand<\/p>\n<p>No Brand Creatine Monohydrate 200g, Date mark: B\/B JUN27<\/p>\n<p>No Brand Creatine Monohydrate 500g, Date mark: B\/B JUN27<\/p>\n<p>No Brand Creatine Monohydrate 1kg, Date mark: B\/B JUN27<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The affected products are sold at selected retailers and online nationwide.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIf you have a milk allergy and have the product at home you can return it to the place of purchase for a refund. A small amount of product was sent to Australia as personal imports, Food Safety confirmed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have consumed any of this product and are concerned for your health, contact your health professional, or call Healthline on 0800 611 116 for free advice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFood safety officers are investigating NZ Muscle following complaints. Our focus right now is to ensure that consumers are protected and affected product is efficiently removed from the supply chain.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAs is our usual practice, we will work with the company to understand how the problem occurred and prevent its recurrence. We will also be looking at other allegations made about this business,\u201d says Mr Inglis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe continue our investigation into a number of other complaints about NZ Muscle made on social media. As this is an ongoing matter we are unable to go into detail about this work at this stage.
