pictures: Jimmy Crowley musical tribute fundraiser at Cork City Hall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">An impressive list of musicians came out in force at Cork City Hall recently for the benefit concert for Cork singer and songwriter Jimmy Crowley.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Last month, in what was called a \u201clast resort\u201d GoFundMe appeal, Mr Crowley revealed that he had been diagnosed with stage three oesophageal cancer, and suffered a debilitating stroke last December.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">His partner, Eve Telford, set up the GoFundMe appeal in an effort to facilitate their hopes that he would be able continue his rehabilitation at their Cobh home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">In a show of support and appreciation by the public, the fundraising target of \u20ac100,000 was surpassed within a week and the fund raising concert was organised, with many household names in the Cork music scene agreeing to take part in the fundraiser.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Among those spotted by our cameras on
