Next month, six Hollyoaks characters will see their lives dramatically change in an explosive double episode. Airing Wednesday 8 July, the special episode sees Leah Barnes<\/a> and her fianc\u00e9 Imran Maalik<\/a> inviting Vicky Grant, Prince McQueen, Frankie Osborne, and Caleb Keane to a dinner party that results in “life-changing decisions”.
<\/p>\n

Leah and Imran both recently returned to Hollyoaks Village<\/a> and have wasted no time making their presence known \u2014 particularly Leah, who has faced backlash from her friends after interfering in their love lives<\/a> for her podcast. The couple have also finished refurbishing their houseboat, which they’re hosting the upcoming dinner party on. <\/p>\n

The evening gets off to a glamorous start, with flowing drinks and fine dining, but the real reason for the gathering is revealed once the hired staff leave. <\/p>\n

Leah gives her friends a strange proposition: Share a secret, and receive \u00a3100,000 as part of scientific research \u2014 Leah’s new business venture.
<\/p>\n

She explains that during her time in America, she was recognised by a university lecturer for her potential. Now, they’re collaborating on research into whether a digital confessional booth app \u2014 where users can anonymously confess their secrets \u2014 could have genuine benefits.<\/p>\n

Wanting her friends to participate in the study, Leah asks them to record a private video confession, and later attend monthly sessions to assess the emotional impact of revealing their secrets.<\/p>\n

Despite Leah’s assurances that the recordings are securely encrypted and will remain completely confidential, Vicky, Frankie, Prince, and Caleb wrestle with whether or not to take part in the confessions. <\/p>\n

An official synopsis for the double episode further teases: “As the night unfolds, viewers are taken deep inside the minds of all six characters as dark truths emerge, buried secrets resurface, and lies continue to spiral out of control.<\/p>\n

With relationships pushed to breaking point and loyalties tested like never before, one question remains: Will any of their lives ever be the same again?” <\/p>\n

Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming<\/a> premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.<\/p>\n
