{"id":525194,"date":"2026-06-30T03:53:18","date_gmt":"2026-06-30T03:53:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/525194\/"},"modified":"2026-06-30T03:53:18","modified_gmt":"2026-06-30T03:53:18","slug":"ncls-walk-for-wellness-raises-15000-for-uk-ireland-charity-partners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/525194\/","title":{"rendered":"NCL\u2019s \u2018Walk for Wellness\u2019 Raises \u00a315,000 for UK &#038; Ireland Charity Partners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"581\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/ncl1-696x581.jpg\"   alt=\"\" title=\"ncl1\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More than 1,000 agents crossed NCL\u2019s \u2018Walk for Wellness\u2019 finishing line this month, having collectively walked 460 million steps (92,000 miles) with \u00a315,000 raised for its UK and Ireland travel agent charities, the Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) Benevolent Fund and Abta Lifeline.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"533\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/ncl2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-191795\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The initiative, now in its third year, inspires the travel agent community to lace up their trainers and step away from their desks to improve mental health and physical fitness, with NCL donating money for each milestone reached.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Agents were encouraged to swap stories, spur each other on \u2013 and interact with images taken on their walks with NCL\u2019s Wellbeing+ app.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Natasha Muller from Arrivia Europe Ltd, said,\u00a0\u201cHuge\u00a0congratulations\u00a0to everyone for their motivation and encouragement! I\u2019ve reaped the benefits from this challenge which is now part of my everyday lifestyle.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Laura Connolly, Travel Village Group\u00a0said,\u201cI loved my gentle, evening walks, well done everyone, and all for two incredible charities that provides much needed financial help to our friends and colleagues in the industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The money raised from this year\u2019s campaign will support agents with a wide variety of personal or work-related issues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gary Anslow, VP and head of business UK and Ireland, NCL,\u00a0said: \u201cWe started the initiative in 2024 with three goals: get everyone moving, encourage conversations around mental health in the travel industry \u2013 and raise money for two charities who positively impact our community. We\u2019re delighted to have seen Walk for Wellness evolve year on year, and together we\u2019ve actively contributed to better conversations around mental health in the travel industry.
