The body of a newborn infant has been discovered abandoned in the toilets of a major music festival in the United States.<\/p>\n

Michigan State Police are now conducting an investigation following the harrowing find at the Electric Forest festival on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n

The state agency confirmed that the portable restroom where the tiny body was found was situated within the camping area of the annual event, held in Rothbury, Michigan. “The body was discovered by an employee of the restroom vending company during routine maintenance,” officials said.<\/p>\n

Authorities have confirmed there is no known threat to the public, according to CBS reports. As of Sunday evening, no further details had been released.<\/p>\n

The festival, hosted at Double JJ Ranch and featuring scores of DJs and musical artists, got underway on Thursday and was scheduled to conclude on Sunday night, according to its official website.<\/p>\n

Rothbury is located approximately 61 miles northwest of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
