Former Home and Away<\/a> star Sophie Dillman has shared an exciting update on her wedding to former co-star Patrick O\u2019Connor. The couple appeared together on the soap as Ziggy Astoni and Dean Thompson before they both left Summer Bay in 2023.<\/p>\n

Last December, the pair got engaged, with Patrick proposing to Sophie on Queens Beach in Sydney. <\/p>\n

Now, writing for TV Week<\/a>, Sophie has dished on her wedding plans, revealing that she’s not quite sure what to do for her big day.<\/p>\n

Before they became engaged, Sophie and Patrick were briefly long-distance<\/a>, with Sophie in the UK for work and Patrick in Australia. They then travelled together, spending time in Europe and America where Sophie saw many potential wedding venues. <\/p>\n

Sophie wrote: “In Greece, I was so taken by a hotel that looked like it was straight out of Mamma Mia \u2013 you know, blue and white, covered in bougainvillea and with the best Greek dessert we had ever eaten \u2013 that I got as far as asking for the price to hire it for the weekend.<\/p>\n

“Although all of those ideas are brilliant, and we would be thrilled with any one of them, to this day, we still have no idea what we are actually going to do.”<\/p>\n

Sophie went on to write that the couple have a list of “non-negotiables” for their big day, including wanting to have all their grandparents there.<\/p>\n

“We aren\u2019t interested in a traditional kind of ceremony and instead, we want to create a relaxed atmosphere where our guests (and more importantly Paddy and I) feel at ease and ready to have a good time,” the actor added.<\/p>\n

While she doesn’t have any plans set in stone, Sophie is conscious that they’ve been engaged for half a year now and it’s time to get to organising. <\/p>\n

However, she doesn’t want to feel pressured, adding: “I do want the process of planning a wedding to be fun, and don\u2019t want outside pressures to dictate our timeline either.”<\/p>\n

But the actress promised to take fans along with her, writing: “While I kick off this journey, I\u2019d love to take you all on the ride as we plan this wedding, one bouquet, playlist and vow at a time.”<\/p>\n

Home and Away drops new episodes on weekdays at 6am on 5\u2019s streaming service with a 6.30pm screening on 5STAR. Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video<\/a> in the UK.<\/p>\n

In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and streams on 7Plus.<\/p>\n
