\n\tYash Raj Films<\/a> and Posham Pa Pictures are joining forces for their first theatrical collaboration, \u201cMupapa,\u201d starring Ayushmann Khurrana<\/a>, with a release date of Feb. 19, 2027.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film, described by the outfits as \u201cgenre-bending,\u201d is produced by YRF CEO Akshaye Widhani, whose previous producing credit, the Mohit Suri-directed romance \u201cSaiyaara,\u201d became the highest-grossing romantic film in Indian cinema history. \u201cMupapa\u201d marks Widhani\u2019s second outing as a producer. The film is directed by Sameer Saxena, an Indian showrunner and director, whose directorial credits include Netflix series \u201cKaala Paani.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe partnership pairs YRF with Posham Pa Pictures, with the two companies aiming to jointly produce disruptive, immersive theatrical experiences for contemporary audiences. \u201cMupapa\u201d is the first film to emerge from that collaboration, which is expected to continue with further joint theatrical productions.<\/p>\n

\n\tYRF and Posham Pa first signed their partnership deal in December 2024<\/a>, with the companies indicating at the time that an initial theatrical slate would follow.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe tie-up reflects an ongoing push by YRF chair Aditya Chopra to build a new creative business model at the studio, with Widhani spearheading efforts to expand YRF\u2019s studio model on the production side. The studio is also broadening its footprint beyond theatrical releases, including a recent strategic investment in vertical entertainment company Rusk Media.<\/a><\/p>\n

\n\tKhurrana, known for taking on unconventional projects, leads \u201cMupapa,\u201d which YRF says will \u201cdeliver an incredibly new visual experience for people in theaters\u201d and \u201cwill keep the audience at the edge of the seats from the word go.\u201d<\/p>\n
