Studio Trigger\u2019s Cyberpunk: Edgerunners<\/a> is no stranger to a stacked voice cast; the first season of the Netflix show (which is a standalone tie-in to CD Projekt Red\u2019s video game Cyberpunk 2077, which is in turn based on Mike Pondsmith\u2019s Cyberpunk tabletop role-playing game) included Matthew Mercer and Giancarlo Esposito. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2<\/a> looks to be carrying on that tradition with the announcement of its English voice cast, which includes Rawhide<\/a> himself, Clancy Brown.<\/p>\n

Brown will play Weak Kingsley, whom the Edgerunners X<\/a> account describes as \u201conce a veteran edgerunner at the top of his game who now lives in the shadow of his own former glory.\u201d Brown is a veteran character and voice actor who, despite voicing the decidedly unintimidating Mr. Krabs on SpongeBob SquarePants for the past 27 years, is more well-known for bringing the menace in roles like the Harbinger in John Wick: Chapter 4. He\u2019s all but guaranteed to be a stand-out as Weak Kingsley.<\/p>\n

In addition to Brown, Nazeeh Tarsha<\/a> (Frieren: Beyond Journey\u2019s End) will voice D, a \u201cSnake Nation netrunner hunting the killer who wiped out his clan\u201d; Kimoy Lee (Rooster Fighter) will voice Talia<\/a>, a Corpo who is \u201cfiercely independent and embraces the hyper-violent, chrome-obsessed culture of the Maelstrom gang\u201d; and Valeria Rodriguez<\/a> (Stranger Things: Tales From \u201985) will\u00a0voice Roman Carax, \u201ca young cinephile.\u201d<\/p>\n

And don\u2019t expect any of the few surviving characters from the first season to make an appearance. The show\u2019s official logline explains:<\/p>\n

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 presents a new standalone 10-episode story from the world of Cyberpunk 2077\u2014 a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge. In a city that thrives in the spotlight of violence, one question remains: when the world is blinded by spectacle, what extremes do you have to go to make your story matter?<\/p>\n

While the new series\u2019 first teaser trailer<\/a> was light on plot details, it did confirm that the first season\u2019s signature violence will remain firmly intact. We\u2019ll see who survives this time around when Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 premieres later this year.<\/p>\n
