Cricket Ireland has today named the Ireland Women\u2019s squad for the upcoming three-match one-day international series to be held at Bready next week \u2013 this is the first set of fixtures Ireland will play in the new cycle of the ICC Women\u2019s Championship (IWC).<\/p>\n

Tickets to the Test are available via www.cricketireland.ie<\/a>.<\/p>\n BACKGROUND<\/p>\n ICC Women\u2019s Championship 2025\u20132029<\/p>\n The ICC Women\u2019s Championship 2025\u20132029 will determine the majority of qualification places for the ICC Women\u2019s Cricket World Cup 2029.<\/p>\n Championship Format<\/p>\n The Championship features 11 Full Member nations.Each team will play eight three-match ODI series:Four home series (Ireland: India, New Zealand, Pakistan, West Indies)Four away series (Ireland: England, Australia, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka)Each team will therefore play 24 One Day Internationals during the Championship cycle.The Championship is scheduled to conclude on 28 February 2029, which is the qualification cut-off date.<\/p>\n Points System<\/p>\n Teams receive:<\/p>\n 2 points for a win1 point for a tie, no result or abandoned match0 points for a loss<\/p>\n If teams finish level on points, the standings are determined by:<\/p>\n Greatest number of winsHighest net run rate across all Championship matchesMost points in head-to-head matchesHighest net run rate in head-to-head matchesOriginal Championship seeding (if still tied)<\/p>\n Qualification for the ICC Women\u2019s Cricket World Cup 2029<\/p>\n The 2029 Women\u2019s Cricket World Cup will feature 10 teams.
