Coronation Street<\/a> and Emmerdale spoilers<\/a> follow.<\/p>\n

Coronation Street and Emmerdale have shared their latest schedule updates, as fans continue to face confusion over when episodes will air.<\/p>\n

While episodes had already been confirmed for Friday evening (3 July), there had been uncertainty about when the ITV soaps would next be on screen.<\/p>\n

As we’re entering the later stages of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, schedules for ITV1, BBC One and BBC Two are being altered at the last minute depending on the broadcasters’ picks for individual games.<\/p>\n

In line with previous announcements, Emmerdale airs for 30 minutes from 7.45pm on ITV1 tonight, followed by a 30-minute Coronation Street at 8.15pm.<\/p>\n

Both of these episodes are now streaming early on ITVX and YouTube. Today’s Emmerdale focuses on Charity Dingle and Mackenzie Boyd’s uncertain future<\/a>, while Coronation Street sees Megan Walsh’s trial verdict revealed<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Beyond this, Emmerdale returns to ITV1 on Monday 6 July with an hour-long episode<\/a> from 7.30pm. This sees Cain Dingle continue to face a tough time, as his troubled son Kyle Winchester rebels further \u2013 and family pet Monty the dog is diagnosed with cancer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Coronation Street follows for an hour from 8.30pm, as Abi Webster’s young son Alfie is rushed to hospital with breathing difficulties \u2013 and newcomer Idris Nazir may be to blame<\/a> after he’s been neglectful as their landlord.<\/p>\n

Emmerdale and Coronation Street will then go off air on Tuesday 7 July, when ITV1’s afternoon and evening schedules will be dominated by World Cup matches and news coverage.<\/p>\n

Speaking recently<\/a> about Idris’s new story, Junade Khan \u2013 who plays him \u2013 told The Mirror<\/a>: “Idris has bought some prop\u00ader\u00adties from a dodgy guy and not done a sur\u00advey, which he should have done. He apo\u00adlo\u00adgises and wants to put it right, but it’s too little, too late.<\/p>\n

“Then, when Leanne and Alya say it’s not his fault, he decides he needs pay\u00adback. He decides to visit this guy and put him in his place.<\/p>\n

“They stick him in the car, take him to waste\u00adland and threaten him and Brody hits him. He gets Brody to do his dirty work, so that his own hands are clean.<\/p>\n

“He’s got this darker side when it comes to busi\u00adness but at the same time there’s a humanity to him.”<\/p>\n
