Two garda\u00ed were injured in what has been described as an “unprovoked, violent attack” in Dundalk.<\/p>\n
The Garda Representative Association (GRA) said that the incident occurred outside Dundalk Garda Station at 7am on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n
In a statement, garda\u00ed said that an off-duty male garda was assaulted by a man in the carpark of the garda station.<\/p>\n
While attempting to arrest the man, aged in his 20s, a second male garda was also assaulted.<\/p>\n
Both members received medical treatment and remain off duty.<\/p>\n
Welfare supports have been made available to the affected garda members.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed say the assault incidents remain under investigation.<\/p>\n
In a post on X, the GRA said: “Another day, sadly another attack on Garda\u00ed simply serving their local community”.<\/p>\n
