{"id":531630,"date":"2026-07-03T20:02:09","date_gmt":"2026-07-03T20:02:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/531630\/"},"modified":"2026-07-03T20:02:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-03T20:02:09","slug":"boustead-healthcare-unit-acquires-majority-stake-in-medtech-company-via-s6-million-equity-injection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/531630\/","title":{"rendered":"Boustead healthcare unit acquires majority stake in medtech company via S$6 million equity injection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">[SINGAPORE]  Boustead Singapore  unit Boustead Medical Care Holdings (BMCH) has acquired a 60 per cent stake in a urology robotics company through a S$6 million equity injection, the engineering and technology group said on Friday (Jul 3).<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">BMCH, which falls under Boustead\u2019s healthcare division, focuses on rehabilitation robotics, digital healthcare and medical innovation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">Singapore-based UroMedTech is known for pioneering robotic solutions for prostate cancer diagnosis through its UroMaster system. Its R&amp;D road map includes integrating focal therapy treatment, a minimally invasive method to target tumours, within UroMaster.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">Boustead said the investment will expand its healthcare technology portfolio into \u201cthe rapidly growing precision urology and oncology field, (while positioning) the group to capitalise on emerging trends in artificial intelligence-driven technology\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">It added: \u201cThrough the acquisition, BMCH intends to accelerate the commercialisation of UroMaster, support the development of these next-generation capabilities, and expand UroMedTech\u2019s international presence by leveraging its regional distribution network, which includes public and private clinics and hospitals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">After the transaction is completed, UroMedTech will continue to operate under its existing brand and also work closely with BMCH to expand R&amp;D, strengthen clinical partnerships and pursue regulatory approvals in key international markets.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-6 border-b border-gray-250 pb-4 scalable, high-margin medical technology (platforms) with recurring revenue opportunities from consumables, software subscriptions and clinical services\u201d, Boustead said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">The deal is not expected to have a <a class=\"text-verticals-btblue underline hover:text-blue-500\" data-testid=\"article-annotation-link-component\" href=\"https:\/\/www.businesstimes.com.sg\/companies-markets\/boustead-more-doubles-h2-profit-s197-7-million\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">material impact on the group\u2019s profitability<\/a>, earnings per share and tangible net asset value per share in the financial year ending Mar 31, 2027.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6 inline-block\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">Boustead shares closed at S$2.09 on Friday, up S$0.05 or 2.5 per cent, before the
