Snow Patrol<\/a> surprised fans at their giant Crystal Palace Park gig by bringing out Kylie Minogue<\/a> for the debut live performance of their new collaborative single \u2018These Alarms\u2019.<\/p>\n

The indie rock giants headlined Crystal Palace Park last night (July 3), with support coming from Nieve Ella<\/a>,\u00a0The Amazons<\/a>,\u00a0Amy MacDonald<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Editors<\/a>.<\/p>\n

They opened with 2008 fan-favourite \u2018Take Back the City\u2019, before launching into a setlist of their biggest hits, including \u2018Run\u2019, \u2018You Could Be Happy\u2019 and \u2018The Lightning Strike (What If This Storm Ends?)\u2019.<\/p>\n

Later in the night, they surprised fans by welcoming Minogue to the stage for the live debut of their brand new single with the star, \u2018These Arms\u2019, which was released earlier this week<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After they performed their collab, frontman Gary Lightbody dedicated their 2006 classic \u2018Chasing Cars\u2019 to Minogue, with her joining in for a duet.<\/p>\n

The collab with Minogue marks their first time teaming up with the pop icon \u2013 having initially recorded the song without her in 2024, and putting it on hold until they could secure a collaboration.<\/p>\n

Led by pulsating synths and haunting vocal melodies, the track kicks in with both Minogue and Lightbody\u2019s entwined voices. \u201cIt\u2019s all at once\/ And everything in between\/ It\u2019s not what we want\/ But it\u2019s just something that\/ We need in our lives right now\u201d, they sing, building towards the euphoric, anthemic chorus.<\/p>\n

The song was first written by Lightbody two years ago under the working title \u2018Kylie\u2019 and set to be released on Snow Patrol\u2019s chart-topping album \u2018The Forest Is The Path<\/a>\u2019, until the band decided to put it on hold while they sought out a duet with the pop star.<\/p>\n

After the set at Crystal Palace Park, Snow Patrol are also set to play\u00a0a run of UK live shows this summer<\/a>, which includes sets at Ludlow Castle on July 16, Edinburgh Castle on July 18, and Splendour Festival in Nottingham on July 19.<\/p>\n

Snow Patrol\u2019s last album, \u2018The Forest Is The Path\u2019 was their eighth LP and their first in six years. It featured production from\u00a0Fraser T Smith<\/a>\u00a0and writing credits from\u00a0Queens Of The Stone Age<\/a>\u2019s Troy Van Leeuwen.<\/p>\n
