Kurt Cobain, you would&#8217;ve loved The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn&#8217;t A Guy At All, according to Dave Grohl. The manga series (which started on <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/agu_knzm\/status\/1512998788025110532\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Twitter<\/a>) is getting turned into an animated series, and details were revealed Friday (July 3) at the Anime Expo in Los Angeles, including that Nirvana&#8217;s &#8220;Breed&#8221; will\u00a0be the opening theme.<\/p>\n<p>Nirvana is referenced throughout the original manga (along with bands like Turnstile and King Gizzard &amp; The Lizard Wizard), and the character Mitsuki is first introduced wearing a Nirvana hoodie. Crunchyroll also shared a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DaWIsvuCYo7\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">short interview<\/a> between Dave Grohl and creator Sumiko Arai alongside the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qWJo5abhQ08\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">teaser<\/a>. &#8220;I think that Kurt definitely would&#8217;ve loved this,&#8221; Grohl said. &#8220;It seems like the same message, aesthetic, and the vibe \u2014 it&#8217;s cool.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The series is slated to premiere January 2027, and Masashi Ishihama will be directing.
