EastEnders has given a disappointing update regarding Anna Knight’s potential return<\/a>. Anna waved goodbye to Albert Square back in December, as she went travelling in Australia with her boyfriend Freddie Slater.<\/p>\n

Anna left behind her dad George, sister Gina, and, of course, mum Cindy, who is now engaged to Max Branning and planning the mother of all weddings. Last week, during her engagement party, Cindy told Peter that she was expecting Anna to attend the wedding. <\/p>\n

But in tonight’s (6 July) episode of the BBC soap, Cindy revealed that she may have jumped the gun a little bit, as she hadn’t actually asked Anna if she was coming back from Down Under to East London.<\/p>\n

While speaking to Gina in the caf\u00e9, Cindy shared that she had phoned Anna the night before and told her about the wedding. Cindy said that Anna seemed drunk and didn’t take her upcoming nuptials seriously, given her mum’s romantic history. <\/p>\n

Cindy then showed Gina a recent text from Anna, where she did apologise for being harsh. She didn’t, however, change her mind about coming to the wedding, which left Cindy dejected despite Gina’s best attempts to explain the situation. <\/p>\n

Following her exit from the soap last year, actor Molly Rainford teased<\/a> that Anna may not be gone from Albert Square forever, sharing: “Let’s be honest, no one goes travelling forever.”<\/p>\n

Cindy and Max’s wedding is already shaping up to be a huge event, with the couple deciding tonight that the entirety of Albert Square should be invited. <\/p>\n

However, Max has recently begun a dangerous affair with Priya that would spell the end for him and Cindy if the secret ever gets out. Will Max and Cindy actually make it to the altar, or will a twist occur?<\/p>\n

EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.<\/p>\n
