{"id":536898,"date":"2026-07-07T05:00:13","date_gmt":"2026-07-07T05:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/536898\/"},"modified":"2026-07-07T05:00:13","modified_gmt":"2026-07-07T05:00:13","slug":"israeli-unemployment-rose-in-may-central-bureau-of-statistics-survey-reveals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/536898\/","title":{"rendered":"Israeli unemployment rose in May, Central Bureau of Statistics survey reveals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Israel&#8217;s employment rate dropped in May, from 60.1% of the over-15 population employed in April to 59.9%, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/article-900647\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Central Bureau of Statistics<\/a> (CBS) revealed last month.<\/p>\n<p>According to the CBS Labor Force Survey Data for May 2026, there were a total of 4,469,000 Israelis considered to be in the workforce (61.6%), of whom 126,500 (2.8%) were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/tags\/unemployment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">unemployed<\/a> and 4,342,500 (97.2%) were employed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">The employment rate declined for both men (from 64.9% to 64.6%) and women (from 59.1% to 58.7%), the data revealed.<\/p>\n<p>The district with the highest unemployment rate was the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/article-901495\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Jerusalem<\/a> district, CBS said, with the rate rising from 3.4% in April to 4.1% in May.
