{"id":537350,"date":"2026-07-07T11:11:08","date_gmt":"2026-07-07T11:11:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/537350\/"},"modified":"2026-07-07T11:11:08","modified_gmt":"2026-07-07T11:11:08","slug":"liquidators-appointed-to-five-firms-in-greg-kavanaghs-property-group-over-revenue-debts-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/537350\/","title":{"rendered":"Liquidators appointed to five firms in Greg Kavanagh\u2019s property group over Revenue debts \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Liquidators have been appointed to five companies in developer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/greg-kavanagh\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/greg-kavanagh\/\">Greg Kavanagh\u2019s<\/a> property group over debts totalling more than \u20ac2 million.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">On Monday, Sheela Connaughton-Deeny, barrister for Revenue, sought the appointment of liquidators to New Generation Construction Limited, Fofo Investments Limited, Beakonshaw Management Limited, For Much Needed Housing Limited and Sequana Assets Limited in relation to tax debts. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Ross Gorman, the legal representative for each of the five firms, which all listed Kavanagh as the only director, said the companies did not oppose Revenue\u2019s petitions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Justice Ois\u00edn Quinn consented to the petitions and ordered the five companies to be wound up. He directed Kavanagh to file a statement of affairs within 21 days.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">S&amp;W Ireland partner Stephen Scott has been appointed to manage the wind down of each firm, which owed a combined \u20ac2.2 million to Revenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-it-article-body__interstitial-link\">[\u00a0<a aria-label=\"Open related story\" class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/crime-law\/courts\/2026\/03\/02\/greg-kavanagh-property-company-pursued-over-18m-deal-to-buy-land-in-meath\/\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Greg Kavanagh property company pursued over \u20ac1.8m deal to buy land in MeathOpens in new window<\/a>\u00a0]<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The five entities being wound up form part of a larger group of close to 70 companies in Kavanagh\u2019s property group. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Kavanagh\u2019s ongoing construction projects have not been impacted by the appointment of liquidators, it is understood.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Records show Revenue was owed a six-figure sum by each of the companies being wound up.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Sequana Assets Limited, which owed \u20ac173,451, was previously linked to a development project planned by Kavanagh in Rathfarnham, Dublin. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The firm applied for permission to redevelop Prospect House on Stocking Lane into 29 apartments, but the proposal was blocked by An Coimisi\u00fan Plean\u00e1la in 2020.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">For Much Needed Housing Limited, which owed \u20ac453,204, was linked to a four-unit housing project on Annamoe Road in Dublin 7.
