Met \u00c9ireann has said that a prolonged spell of very warm weather is expected, with temperatures exceeding 25C over the coming days.<\/p>\n
An advisory from the forecaster, which is in effect from tomorrow until next Tuesday, states that daytime temperatures will exceed 25C, possibly climbing to 30C in parts of the country.<\/p>\n
Ail\u00eds Hankinson, forecaster with Met \u00c9ireann, said that from Friday the “main heat” will come into effect, with temperatures climbing to the high 20s.<\/p>\n
“We’re seeing a signal for the warmest temperatures really from the weekend in Munster, south Connacht maybe west Leinster,” she said.<\/p>\n
Speaking on RT\u00c9’s Morning Ireland, she added: “We’re looking at a prolonged spell really of very warm and possibly hot weather.”<\/p>\n
Ms Hankinson said that the warm weather is due to an area of high pressure currently located to the south of Ireland and is “building a bit of a ridge over the south of the country”.<\/p>\n
She said there was a bit of a “waving weather front” lingering over the north-west of the country, keeping it a bit cloudier.<\/p>\n
However, Ms Hankinson said the high pressure will spread further northwards over the next few days, making the sunshine more widespread.<\/p>\n
