{"id":538746,"date":"2026-07-08T06:21:14","date_gmt":"2026-07-08T06:21:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/538746\/"},"modified":"2026-07-08T06:21:14","modified_gmt":"2026-07-08T06:21:14","slug":"irha-urges-government-to-reduce-input-costs-for-hauliers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/538746\/","title":{"rendered":"IRHA urges government to reduce input costs for hauliers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Irish Road Haulage Association (IRHA) is urging government to reduce input costs for the haulage industry, before considering increasing excise duty on fuels.<\/p>\n<p>The IRHA says that every additional cost placed on Ireland\u2019s haulage sector has consequences that reach far beyond the transport industry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHigher fuel costs, increased tolls, rising insurance premiums, growing compliance requirements and additional port charges all contribute to the cost of moving goods across the country,\u201d IRHA President, Ger Hyland said.<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cUltimately, those costs don\u2019t disappear.
