Jaylen Brown might want a respite from all the craziness around the Celtics trade rumors<\/a>. Good thing he\u2019s got a spot at MIT waiting for him.<\/p>\n

Brown is one of three inaugural \u201cEntrepreneurship Leadership Fellows\u201d that the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship has said it is bringing to campus this summer to help the 13 fledgling startups at its \u201cdelta v\u201d accelerator program. Joining the C\u2019s star will be former pro soccer player Lauren Holiday and former Netflix chief executive Marc Randolph.<\/p>\n

Martin Trust Center managing director Bill Aulet says the program\u2019s startups have already heard from some of Greater Boston\u2019s prominent tech mensches such as Paul English, Dharmesh Shah, and Mitch Kapor, along with Klaviyo cofounders Andrew Bialecki and Ed Hallen. (Bialecki and Hallen recently agreed to give $6 million<\/a> to the center to bolster the delta v program, which offers $75,000 in stipends to each startup team this summer.)<\/p>\n

The three fellows will talk with the accelerator participants about leadership and entrepreneurship, and Randolph has agreed to be a pen pal for founders, answering questions and providing advice.<\/p>\n

Aulet says the fellows offer broader perspectives that could prove crucial for the delta v founders. Success in entrepreneurship depends heavily on being resilient \u2014 and Brown, Holiday, and Randolph know all about resiliency.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe talk about being anti-fragile,\u201d Aulet says. \u201cEveryone thinks [running a startup] is simply an analytical experience. It\u2019s so much more. It\u2019s team building. It\u2019s this anti-fragile mindset.\u201d<\/p>\n

The donation from the Klaviyo cofounders will help Aulet and Trust Center executive director Ana Bakshi build delta v into a program that aims to rival the much-touted Y Combinator in California. Unlike the for-profit Y Combinator<\/a>, the delta v program doesn\u2019t involve taking equity stakes in the startups; all the money that\u2019s doled out comes with no strings attached.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s going to be great for MIT,\u201d Aulet says. \u201cIt\u2019s going to be great for Boston.\u201d<\/p>\n
