Activ8 Solar Energies<\/a>\u00a0has\u00a0commenced\u00a0work on what will become\u00a0Ireland’s largest rooftop solar installation for\u00a0Mannok, an Ireland and\u00a0UK\u00a0manufacturer\u00a0of construction products\u00a0and plastic packaging, marking a significant\u00a0step forward\u00a0in the decarbonisation of Irish industry.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Delivered through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SSE Airtricity, the 6MW solar project\u00a0is now under development across\u00a03.88 hectares\u00a0of rooftop space at\u00a0Mannok’s\u00a0manufacturing facilities in Co\u00a0Cavan.\u00a0<\/p>\n

10,000\u00a0solar panels<\/p>\n

Once completed and energised, the installation will\u00a0comprise\u00a0of approximately 10,000\u00a0solar panels\u00a0and will\u00a0provide\u00a0a significant portion\u00a0of\u00a0Mannok\u2019s\u00a0overall electricity demand while\u00a0avoiding\u00a0an estimated 792 tonnes of carbon emissions each year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Spanning\u00a0an area equivalent to almost three GAA pitches\u00a0once complete, the\u00a0project\u00a0highlights the growing role of onsite renewable energy\u00a0in helping Irish industry reduce emissions, manage energy\u00a0costs\u00a0and strengthen operational resilience.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Structured as a fully funded Power Purchase Agreement with SSE Airtricity, the project\u00a0will\u00a0enable\u00a0Mannok\u00a0to\u00a0benefit\u00a0from onsite renewable electricity generation without upfront capital investment. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Long-term energy price certainty for Irish industry<\/p>\n
