Yungblud<\/a> might be a divisive rockstar, but he\u2019s certainly got a fan in Placebo\u2019s Brian Molko, who wants the singer-songwriter to play him in a biopic.<\/p>\n The Placebo vocalist and guitarist was posed the question in Radio X\u2019s new digital series<\/a>, Do I Wanna Know?, where he gave the surprising answer.<\/p>\n When considering a biopic of his life, Molko first shared his director of choice: \u201cOne of my favourite filmmakers is Jim Jarmusch. I have one of his films tattooed on my skin \u2013 Only Love Is Left Alive<\/a>, my favourite film.\u201d<\/p>\n Moving onto the lead role, Molko shared, \u201cI think Yungblud would do a good job of playing me, but I think he might struggle with my accent!\u201d<\/p>\n While Molko has a distinct nomadic accent, which blends American, British, and Scottish influences, Yungblud famously has a thick Yorkshire accent, as he comes from Doncaster in Northern England.<\/p>\n Molko then added humorously, \u201cThe answer to that question used to be Audrey Hepburn, when I got asked it.\u201d<\/p>\n Placebo are currently enjoying a relaxed summer before he hits the road alongside musical collaborator Stefan Olsdal for their huge 30th anniversary headline tour,<\/a> during which they will perform material from their self-titled debut.<\/p>\n With an eye on the upcoming tour, the band has shared, \u201cWhen we made the first album, we didn\u2019t yet have the experience or the studio knowledge to fully translate what was in our heads. Over the years, the songs took on a life of their own onstage; they grew, they developed, they kind of completed themselves.<\/p>\n They added that the tour is \u201ca celebration of where we began, and a meeting point between who we were then and who we are now. It\u2019s a way of honouring that innocence, while letting the songs exist with the scale, confidence and energy<\/a> of the band we\u2019ve become.\u201d<\/p>\n They will kick the affair off at the Super Bock Arena in Porto on September 28th, before making their way across Europe throughout October and November, with a UK run hitting Nottingham, Glasgow, Dublin, Manchester, London, and Cardiff at the tail end of the year.<\/p>\n
