Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds<\/a> have announced a takeover at Brighton\u2019s legendary independent record shop Resident, ahead of their huge homecoming show. Find all the details below.<\/p>\n

Cave<\/a> and co. are due to headline the seaside city\u2019s Preston Park<\/a>\u00a0on Friday July 31, as part of\u00a0the band\u2019s current UK and European headline tour<\/a>. Support will come from The Flaming Lips<\/a>,\u00a0English Teacher<\/a>,\u00a0Cate Le Bon<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Warmduscher<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now, it\u2019s been confirmed that The Bad Seeds will take over Resident as part of a series of activities in Brighton around their big gig.<\/p>\n

The shop is set to host a merch pop-up with a selection of existing and new items on offer, including a range specially designed for the Preston Park date \u2013 only available at Resident and the concert itself.<\/p>\n

Fans will also be able to get their hands on an exclusive tote bag made in collaboration with Resident, as well as some classic Bad Seeds and Cave\u00a0Things<\/a> items.<\/p>\n

The record shop is stocking a limited-edition vinyl release (details to follow), too, and offering discounts across the group\u2019s album catalogue, and giveaways. What\u2019s more, a special post box will allow fans to send physical letters to Cave\u2019s Red Hand Files<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere across the same weekend, Cave is taking over Brighton\u2019s Duke Of York\u2019s Picturehouse for a series of curated screenings. This special event will feature five films that have inspired and defined the artist\u2019s songwriting \u2013 each with a recorded introduction by Cave himself. Speaking in a previous statement about the upcoming live show, Cave said: \u201cI am thrilled beyond words to return to my beloved Brighton with The Bad Seeds to play Preston Park. It\u2019s a homecoming! It\u2019s going to be big, bad and beautiful. An epic show!!!\u201d<\/p>\n

The gig serves as a UK-exclusive performance for Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, and comes in support of their acclaimed 2024 album \u2018Wild God\u2019<\/a> (see the full stage times here<\/a>). It follows their performance at Dublin\u2019s Malahide Castle last month, where they covered The Pogues\u2019 \u2018A Rainy Night In Soho\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cave and his band are currently out in Europe, and played a set at Open\u2019er 2026<\/a> last week. NME\u00a0described the show<\/a>\u00a0as \u201ca potted run-through of their impressive discography\u201d, adding that \u201cthere was a giddy sense of chaos to the whole thing\u201d.<\/p>\n

They have since appeared at NOS Alive<\/a>, and will take to the stage at Mad Cool<\/a> tomorrow (Saturday July 11). The group\u2019s other European summer dates include Way Out West<\/a>, \u00d8YA<\/a> and Rock En Seine<\/a>. Earlier this year,\u00a0they headed out on the road in Australia and New Zealand<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In May,\u00a0Cave revealed that the Bad Seeds were \u201cmessing around\u201d in the studio with the \u201cvague idea of making a new record\u201d<\/a>\u00a0as the follow-up to \u2018Wild God\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis morning, I am going to Islington to mess around in the studio,\u201d he said, adding that he would be working with his bandmates Martyn P. Casey, Thomas Wydler, Jim Sclavunos and Warren Ellis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cave appears on Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea\u2019s 2026 debut solo album, \u2018Honora\u2019<\/a>, alongside\u00a0Radiohead<\/a>\u2018s Thom Yorke<\/a>. He also\u00a0recorded a new version of \u2018Red Right Hand\u2019<\/a>\u00a0for\u00a0Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man<\/a>.<\/p>\n
