\n\tMorgan Spector<\/a> is in negotiations for the lead role of Robert Langdon in Netflix<\/a>\u2018s upcoming series based on the Dan Brown book \u201cThe Secret of Secrets,\u201d Variety has learned from sources. <\/p>\n

\n\tFurthermore, Rebecca Hall is in talks for the female lead in the series, which was ordered at Netflix in May 2025<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\n\tReps for Netflix declined to comment. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe logline for the show states, \u201cSymbologist Robert Langdon (Spector) races against ancient forces and time to rescue a missing scientist (Hall) and her groundbreaking manuscript whose discoveries have the power to forever change humanity\u2019s understanding of the mind.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tBrown and Carlton Cuse are co-creators and executive producers on the series, with Cuse also serving as showrunner under his Genre Arts banner. Emma Forman of Genre Arts also executive produces. <\/p>\n

\n\tSpector currently stars in the hit HBO series \u201cThe Gilded Age,\u201d on which he would continue to star should the Langdon show get picked up and should \u201cThe Gilded Age\u201d get renewed for a fifth season. The fourth season of \u201cThe GIlded Age\u201d is due out this fall. Spector recently appeared in the Netflix limited series \u201cBlack Rabbit\u201d and has also starred in shows including \u201cThe Plot Against America\u201d and \u201cHomeland.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tHall is coming off the FX series \u201cThe Beauty\u201d and a guest star role in the hit Apple TV series \u201cThe Studio.\u201d She is known for her roles in films like \u201cThe Town,\u201d \u201cVicky Christina Barcelona,\u201d and the \u201cGodzilla x Kong\u201d franchise. <\/p>\n

\n\tSpector is repped by WME, Untitled Entertainment, and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole. Hall is repped by Julian Belfrage Associates, WME, and Hansen Jacobson. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe Robert Langdon books have sold over 250 million copies worldwide, translated into 56 languages. Brown published the first book in the series, \u201cAngels & Demons,\u201d in 2000, and followed up with \u201cThe Da Vinci Code\u201d in 2003, \u201cThe Lost Symbol\u201d in 2009, \u201cInferno\u201d in 2013 and \u201cOrigin\u201d in 2017. \u201cThe Secret of Secrets\u201d was published in 2025. Of them, three have been adapted into films, most notably \u201cThe Da Vinci Code\u201d in 2006 followed by \u201cAngels & Demons\u201d in 2009 and \u201cInferno\u201d in 2016. Tom Hanks plays Robert Langdon in the films, which were all directed by Ron Howard and produced by Columbia Pictures. The franchise has grossed more than $2.2 billion total.<\/p>\n
