Game of Thrones star Jerome Flynn has been confirmed to join the near-perfect sci-fi drama Alien: Earth for season two<\/a>, along with the newest additions to the cast, Tracey Ullman and Sam Spruell.<\/p>\n

They will join the popular FX series for its second season alongside the previously announced Peter Dinklage, with whom Flynn worked on Game of Thrones (via Variety<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Plot details and character information are currently being kept under wraps, though production on season two is already under way in London, with returning stars Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, and Babou Ceesay confirmed. <\/p>\n

Also confirmed to return to their roles from season one are Samuel Blenkin, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Adrian Edmondson, David Rysdahl, Moe Bar-El, and Sandra Yi Sencindiver, among others. <\/p>\n

Created by Noah Hawley, the first television series in the Alien franchise is set two years before the events of Ridley Scott’s 1979 film Alien.<\/p>\n

The show follows a crashed spaceship that unleashes deadly alien creatures on Earth, leaving a team of humans and hybrids to stop them before the threat spreads. The logline reads: “The planet’s greatest threat is discovered after a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth.”<\/p>\n

Season one of Alien: Earth proved popular with audiences and critics alike, and it currently holds a near-perfect 94% on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>. <\/p>\n
