Our 12-race marathon starts here with a maiden for juveniles over 7f, and in my opening bet of the day, HAFFNER will be hard to beat. The son of Justify was very green on debut, ducking left at the start, but ran on nicely to chase home Abraham Lincoln at the Curragh last month. He\u2019s bred to stay very well from the family of Order of St George, and a maiden win is there for his taking. Ryan Moore rides for Aidan O\u2019Brien.<\/p>\n A handicap over 5f. GLAMOROUS BREEZE will go forward from a high draw, which worked well at Royal Ascot. Chris Mason\u2019s mare is in terrific form and has gone up 1lb for placed efforts at Goodwood and Windsor this season. A mark of 90 is still within her grasp, and she\u2019s worth a few quid each way. Gina Mangan might be set for a cool ride.<\/p>\n Here\u2019s a handicap for fillies and mares over 7f. SONG N DANCE will need a career best off 85 to win this, but the filly is bang in form for Sean Woods and Tom Marquand. She was last seen at Ascot in May when second over a mile, and the effort that day suggested she would be very happy coming back to 7f. She\u2019s ultra consistent, and while \u2013 again \u2013 she\u2019s clearly not thrown in after just eight races, she might well have a bit more to give.<\/p>\n The Group 2 Summer Mile for older horses over a mile. ZEUS OLYMPIOS has somewhat underachieved lately, and was behind More Thunder in the Queen Anne \u2013 an event won by outsider Ten Bob Tony. That all said, I think he\u2019ll get first run on that rival again here, and having kept on well last time, he might be hard to catch \u2013 assuming he goes a bit harder towards the front of the pace. Sam James rides for Karl Burke.<\/p>\n A handicap over 1m. I\u2019ve been fancying APIARIST in a few races of late and he\u2019s been failing me, but he should have won at Thirsk two races ago, when proving very unlucky in the run, and he\u2019s dropped another 1lb to 97 since flopping at Royal Ascot. He\u2019s definitely got the ability to win this so we go in again. Tom Eaves rides for Kevin Ryan.<\/p>\n Now a handicap for 3yo over 1m. WECHAAD stayed on well behind Moonfall in the Britannia Handicap at Royal Ascot, and should have a good chance of reversing that form in a more conventional race. Wechaad had previously been a good second at Goodwood over 7f, but he took the step up in trip in his stride, and so Roger Varian\u2019s colt really should have a good eachway chance at the very least. Ryan Moore is on top.<\/p>\n Up in class a little here for a Listed event over 5f. It\u2019s competitive stuff, but I think there\u2019s an each-way chance for JM JUNGLE to return to a bit of form for the Quinns and Jason Hart. A former dash winner at Epsom and Nunthorpe sixth, JM Jungle has plenty of form at this track and he\u2019s bang in the mix on his current rating.<\/p>\n A big handicap in the Bunbury Cup over 7f. SUPIDO has form which gives him every chance off a mark of 94. It includes a finish of fifth in the 2025 Britannia \u2013 off a mark of 98 \u2013 and a recent third at Chester off his current rating. Basically, he\u2019s a solid handicapper at 7f to 1m, and well weighted to play a part. Let\u2019s hope draw 13 is not unlucky! Ian Williams teams up with Ryan Moore. An eachway play.<\/p>\n A big handicap in the John Smith\u2019s Cup over an extended 1m2f. CASTLE STUART is well handicapped off 88, and returned to form with a bang over course and distance last time when chasing home Antipodes. He has a perfect draw in stall 7 and should be in the mix if repeating that last effort, especially with a great racing weight of 8st 8lb. Barry McHugh rides for the Faheys.<\/p>\n \n The Group 2 Superlative Stakes for youngsters over 7f. If Haffner hacks up then expect ABRAHAM LINCOLN to shorten up here. The 2,300,000 euros purchase looked good when beating the former at the Curragh in June and he should have no problem going up to 7f. He looks very promising for Aidan O\u2019Brien and Ryan Moore.<\/p>\n This is the big one of the day in the Group 1 July Cup over 6f. I\u2019ll keep the faith with SATONO REVE, who now gets Christophe Lemaire on top of one of the May favourite rides. The Royal Ascot runner-up \u2013 a big fancy of mine in the QEII Jubilee Stakes when finishing second to Almeraq \u2013 is ultra consistent and brings top class sprinting form to the table.<\/p>\n He tries Newmarket for the first time, and while that\u2019ll be an experience, he\u2019s coped well with Ascot, and has to be bang in the mix if he brings his A game. Come on, Japan!<\/p>\n A Group 3 for older horses over 1m6f. TABLETALK doesn\u2019t win many, but this is a good chance for Rossa Ryan and Tom Clover.
