{"id":546212,"date":"2026-07-12T17:52:14","date_gmt":"2026-07-12T17:52:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/546212\/"},"modified":"2026-07-12T17:52:14","modified_gmt":"2026-07-12T17:52:14","slug":"hollywood-star-praises-darina-allen-after-ballymaloe-summer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/546212\/","title":{"rendered":"Hollywood star praises Darina Allen after Ballymaloe summer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Hollywood star has revealed she is amongst the alumni of Ballymaloe Cookery School after spending invaluable time at the Cork venue in her teens. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/evoke.ie\/2022\/07\/17\/entertainment\/celebrity\/olivia-wilde-waterford\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Olivia Wilde<\/a> has told how she spent a summer in Ballymaloe in Cork in her teenage years, crediting the school with teaching her how to cook.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Don&#8217;t Worry Darling director, who hails from New York, spent much of her childhood in her famous journalist father Andrew Cockburn&#8217;s native Ireland. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"700\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Olivia-Wilde-2.jpg\" alt=\"Olivia Wilde. Pic: Mike Coppola\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Olivia gushed over Darina Allen, saying that she &#8216;changed the game&#8217; in terms of cooking, and praised Rachel and the rest of the family for taking over from her. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 42-year-old, who famously dated Harry Styles, joked that she was the only teenager learning to cook in Ballymaloe at the time, but called it the &#8216;most beautiful place.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"700\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Darina1.jpg\" alt=\"Darina Allen.
