{"id":546417,"date":"2026-07-12T21:18:11","date_gmt":"2026-07-12T21:18:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/546417\/"},"modified":"2026-07-12T21:18:11","modified_gmt":"2026-07-12T21:18:11","slug":"linux-7-2-enabling-ultrarisc-risc-v-support-in-the-default-kernel-build","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/546417\/","title":{"rendered":"Linux 7.2 Enabling UltraRISC RISC-V Support In The Default Kernel Build"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"RISC-V\" src=\"https:\/\/www.phoronix.com\/assets\/categories\/risc-v.webp\" width=\"100\" height=\"100\"\/><br \/>\nSimilar to Linux 7.2 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phoronix.com\/news\/Linux-7.2-RISC-V\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">enabling Eswin SoC support by default<\/a> in the RISC-V &#8220;defconfig&#8221; kernel build, UltraRISC RISC-V coverage is also now being enabled by default for RISC-V kernel builds in Linux 7.2.<\/p>\n<p>Merged today ahead of the imminent Linux 7.2-rc3 weekly test release are the RISC-V fixes, which include adding the ARCH_ULTRARISC Kconfig support for enablign the UltraRISC RISC-V hardware support, which in the mainline kernel currently means the UR-DP1000 with eight UltraRISC C100 cores.&#13;<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/1783891091_999_image.webp\" alt=\"UltraRISC Kconfig\"\/><\/p>\n<p>This UltraRISC RISC-V SoC support in turn is being enabled by default for the RISC-V defconfig.
