Zucker, CCO at Ridley Scott\u2019s Scott Free Productions, says he\u2019s still saddened by HBO Max\u2019s abrupt cancellation of the sci-fi series \u201cRaised by Wolves\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Zucker has built a long list of TV series during his time with Scott Free, including shows like \u201cThe Good Wife,\u201d \u201cAlien: Earth,\u201d \u201cThe Man in the High Castle,\u201d and \u201cThe Terror\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRaised by Wolves\u201d was on that list, a sci-fi saga set on the distant planet of Kepler-22b in the wake of Earth\u2019s destruction from a great war.  A pair of androids escape with a dozen human embryos with the goal to raise them in a logic-based lifestyle. They find their lives threatened by the arrival of the religious order known as the Mithraic.<\/p>\n<p>Critics reviews improved from the first to second seasons and ratings were solid, yet the show was abruptly scrapped after two seasons.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/ridley-scott-raised-by-wolves-hbo-max-cancellation-sudden-explained-zucker\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ScreenRant<\/a>, Zucker revealed that the studio was actually \u201cready to do\u201d the next season of the show.<\/p>\n<p>Then came the merger of WarnerMedia and Discovery, Inc. which saw \u201cDavid Zaslav [come] in\u201d and the show being \u201cset aside\u201d by the streamer.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Wolves\u2019 was one of a number of series scrapped in the wake of the WBD merger with \u201cWestworld\u201d also being cut short.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the cancellation, Zucker hopes that \u201cwe would be able to bring Raised by Wolves back\u2026I keep hoping that [show] might have another day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Zucker has plenty of other sci-fi TV to keep him occupied with a second season of \u201cAlien: Earth\u201d and \u201cBlade Runner 2099\u201d on the way.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"HBO Max American TV executive David W.
