ITV has confirmed the schedule for Coronation Street and Emmerdale this week as the World Cup nears its conclusion, with just four matches left (including the third-place match) in the competition.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, this week isn’t all that chaotic, as most of this week follows the regular schedule – but there’s still a couple of schedule changes, so don’t get caught out.<\/p>\n

Monday follows the standard schedule, with Emmerdale on at 8pm and Corrie following at 8.30pm, but on Tuesday there are no episodes at all.<\/p>\n

Wednesday makes up for that, with an hour of Emmerdale from 8pm and an hour of Corrie starting at 9pm.<\/p>\n

Finally, Thursday and Friday follow the regular schedule.<\/p>\n

Of course, today’s episodes of both soaps are now available to watch on ITVX and YouTube, and it’s likely that the streaming releases will follow the broadcast schedule, which means Tuesday will be skipped and Wednesday will have the hour-long episodes.<\/p>\n

And once the World Cup ends on Sunday, regular soap service will resume (for now, at least).<\/p>\n

In more football and soap news, it was announced last week that Manchester United will be getting a new stadium<\/a> located north-west of its current home of Old Trafford, and not too far from where Corrie films.<\/p>\n

The plan is to bring a lot more people to the area, with improved public transport, walking cycling infrastructure and rail links set to be implemented.<\/p>\n

Corrie bosses were quick to assure fans that it shouldn’t disrupt production on the soap, revealing that they were part of the consultation.<\/p>\n

“As matches and events typically occur on evenings and weekends, we expect operational impact to be minimal and we will schedule filming around any ‘wildcard’ events, just as we do now”, a spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

Emmerdale and Coronation Street both air on ITV1 and stream on ITVX and YouTube.<\/p>\n
