Love might be blossoming for David Langham<\/a> in Home and Away following his shooting ordeal<\/a>. David was left fighting for survival when he was accidentally shot while on duty by fellow officer Richie Brezniak<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As part of the storyline, Wentworth star Nicole da Silva<\/a> has joined the cast of the Australian soap as doctor Amelia Carlisle, who was rushed to Summer Bay amid the medical emergency to nurse David back to health<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And love appears to be blooming between the pair, with David actor Jeremy Lindsay Taylor explaining to TV Week<\/a> what is in store for the potential couple. <\/p>\n

“Amelia is exceptional at her job, she\u2019s intelligent, and she\u2019s tough, which David likes,” he said. “They respect each other, each admiring the other\u2019s strength.”<\/p>\n

But it seems their relationship won’t all be plain sailing, with Nicole previously explaining to New Idea<\/a>: “It comes laden with challenges, so Amelia has to learn to assuage her impulse to quit and leave town.” <\/p>\n

Opening up about joining the soap, the Doctor Doctor actor said: “I remember it being a quick shoot, and a fun and easy learning opportunity when I was still pretty fresh out of drama school.<\/p>\n

“Filming is still incredibly fast on set, and while the workload is a little more demanding these days, there’s still that fun energy.”<\/p>\n

Explaining why she decided to take on the role, Nicole continued: “My reasons are twofold, or maybe even threefold.<\/p>\n

“To be honest, it was a great opportunity, and it came at exactly the right time: I am a single parent, and to be able to live and work in Sydney, where I am raising my daughter, meant we could stay around our community, (and be around) our friends and our family.<\/p>\n

“It meant I could provide that consistency \u2014 and that was a big, key element.”<\/p>\n

Home and Away drops new episodes on weekdays at 6am on 5\u2019s streaming service with a 6.30pm screening on 5STAR. Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video<\/a> in the UK.<\/p>\n

In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and streams on 7Plus.<\/p>\n
