{"id":548658,"date":"2026-07-14T05:14:16","date_gmt":"2026-07-14T05:14:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/548658\/"},"modified":"2026-07-14T05:14:16","modified_gmt":"2026-07-14T05:14:16","slug":"cars-towed-and-fines-issued-at-shroove-beach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/548658\/","title":{"rendered":"Cars towed and fines issued at Shroove Beach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two cars have been towed away and multiple fines have been issued by Gardai to motorists parked illegally at Shroove Beach today, Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Councillor Martin Farren told Donegal Daily he has received confirmation that Gardai attended the area today and took action on motorists parked on double yellow lines.<\/p>\n<p>There has been widespread frustration in recent days and weeks as the road to and from the beach was blocked by parked vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, (Sunday), a local bus company was, once again, forced to cancel one of its routes as it could not access the area,<\/p>\n<p>Today, they confirmed that all 953 and 957 services through Shroove to Greencastle had again been suspended.<\/p>\n<p>In recent weeks, Donegal County Council painted double yellow lines to and from the Big White Bay to discourage motorists from parking along the road, but this was not adhered to.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier today, Donegal County Councillor and Inishowen Cathaoirleach Martin Farren said those\u00a0 parking illegally were putting lives in danger, as they could block emergency vehicle access to the beach.<\/p>\n<p>This evening, he confirmed that two vehicles were towed from the area and more than 10 fines were issued.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-sans font-semibold text-xl md:text-[30px] leading-9 text-primary w-full\">\n        You may also be interested in\n    <\/p>\n<p>            <a href=\"https:\/\/www.donegaldaily.com\/courts\/further-charge-to-be-brought-against-man-in-donegal-drugs-case-641521\" class=\"block w-2\/5 shrink-0\" aria-label=\"Further charge to be brought against man in Donegal drugs case\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><\/p>\n<p>        <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/further-charge-to-be-brought-against-man-in-donegal-drugs-case.jpg\" class=\"max-w-full w-full h-full object-contain relative z-10\" width=\"150\" height=\"84\"  alt=\"Further charge to be brought against man in Donegal drugs case\" \/><\/p>\n<p>            <\/a><\/p>\n<p>            <a href=\"https:\/\/www.donegaldaily.com\/hockey\/tributes-paid-to-much-loved-raphoe-hockey-club-stalwart-ronnie-bell-641566\" class=\"block w-2\/5 shrink-0\" aria-label=\"Tributes paid to much-loved Raphoe Hockey Club stalwart Ronnie Bell\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><\/p>\n<p>        <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/tributes-paid-to-much-loved-raphoe-hockey-club-stalwart-ronnie-bell.png\" class=\"max-w-full w-full h-full object-contain relative z-10\" width=\"150\" height=\"84\"  alt=\"Tributes paid to much-loved Raphoe Hockey Club stalwart Ronnie Bell\" \/><\/p>\n<p>            <\/a><\/p>\n<p>He said that Gardai will also be out in force tomorrow to clamp down on those illegally parking.<\/p>\n<p>Cllr Farren thanked Gardai for their work in recent days and in the days ahead &#8216;to ensure safety&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>He urged all motorists, &#8216;once again, to be responsible&#8217;
