Diarmuid Duffy is facing a battle to be fit for Mayo’s All-Ireland SFC final clash against Kerry at Croke Park on July 26.<\/p>\n

The Ballinrobe ace, who has played a prominent role throughout the campaign, is receiving treatment for a shoulder injury he incurred in training following the quarter-final victory over Cork, a game in which he replaced the injured Eoin McGreal after 12 minutes of the encounter.<\/p>\n

Mayo manager described his situation as ‘touch and go’ in terms of his availability for the decider.<\/p>\n

Cillian O’Connor is also doubtful after suffering a setback in his efforts to retain full fitness.<\/p>\n

Darren McHale, the side’s vice-captain, is already ruled out after undergoing hip surgery some time ago<\/p>\n

Regarding O’Connor, Moran said: \u201cWe thought he was back and then he got a tiny bit of a setback. He is trying hard but there are no guarantees.”<\/p>\n

In relation to McHale, he manager explained: “We made that decision at the start of the year. We knew if he went for the surgery, he may not get back. We were both comfortable with the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would say it is really tough for him on a personal level, but he has been an absolute champion for us behind the scenes. He has really bought into that role. It is tough for him being vice-captain.\u201d<\/p>\n

The good news is that both Paddy Durkan and Diarmuid O’Connor are available after recovering from injury setbacks.<\/p>\n
