{"id":549465,"date":"2026-07-14T16:18:11","date_gmt":"2026-07-14T16:18:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/549465\/"},"modified":"2026-07-14T16:18:11","modified_gmt":"2026-07-14T16:18:11","slug":"fx-unveils-the-shards-series-trailer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/549465\/","title":{"rendered":"FX Unveils &#8220;The Shards&#8221; Series Trailer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/fx-unveils-the-shards-series-trailer.jpg\" data-caption=\"FX\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" class=\"entry-thumb td-modal-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/fx-unveils-the-shards-series-trailer.jpg\"   alt=\"\" title=\"fx-unveils-the-shards-series-trailer\"\/><\/a>FX<\/p>\n<p>While his \u201cThe Beauty\u201d looks like it won\u2019t be back, prolific TV series creator Ryan Murphy and FX are teaming up yet again for another sexy new drama.<\/p>\n<p>This time it\u2019s \u201cThe Shards,\u201d an adaptation of the recent novel by \u201cAmerican Psycho\u201d and \u201cRules of Attraction\u201d author Bret Easton Ellis.<\/p>\n<p>The story is set in early 1980s Los Angeles and follows seventeen-year-old Bret (Igby Rigney) \u2013 a nihilistic, 17-year-old, bisexual San Fernando Valley trust-fund senior at the exclusive Buckley prep school in 1981.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s there that a new student arrives with a mysterious past. Robert Mallory (Homer Gere) is bright, handsome, charismatic, and shielding a secret from Bret and his friends even as he becomes a part of their tightly knit circle.<\/p>\n<p>Bret\u2019s obsession is equalled only by his increasingly unsettling preoccupation with the Trawler, a serial killer targeting teenagers who is on the loose and who seems to be drawing ever closer.<\/p>\n<p>Also in the social circle are Susan Reynolds (Kaia Gerber), Debbie Schaffer (Hayes Warner), and Thom Wright (Graham Campbell).
